The Hydration Health Center at UHart continues to make waves! 💧

From the national stage to hands-on student research, the Center is creating meaningful opportunities and advancing conversations around hydration and health.

As part of the America 250 celebrations, Executive Director Colleen Muñoz participated in a panel discussion at the Great American State Fair on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

For student researcher Alexandra Magrey BS'26, the experience was just as impactful:

"By far the most valuable aspect of being a research assistant was being able to apply concepts and skills that I had only ever theoretically learned about in my classes. It was incredibly rewarding to finally put some of that knowledge to real-life use."

From the classroom to the national stage. 💧

Colleen Muñoz, Ph.D., director and co-founder of the Hydration Health Center and professor of health sciences in UHart's College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions, recently participated in the Why Water Matters panel at the America 250 event during the Great American State Fair.

The panel supported Choose Water First, a national campaign focused on advancing public health, modernizing community infrastructure and resource recovery systems, and strengthening emergency preparedness through greater awareness of the importance of water.

Through opportunities like this, UHart faculty are bringing their expertise beyond the classroom to help shape conversations that impact the health and well-being of communities nationwide.
