Cheryl Hoffert was a well-loved office coordinator in the Department of Psychology for 24 years. We are all saddened by her loss. The larger community is invited to attend her visitation tomorrow (June 10, 2025) from 11-2. Information is in the UNotes post.

Services for the former office coordinator in the Department of Psychology will be Tuesday in New Britain.

Congratulations to our Psychology majors who presented their work at the Undergraduate Research and Creativity Colloquium at the University of Hartford on April 9, 2025! Aysiaa Wujcik presented "Loneliness and its impact on life satisfaction among college students." Rosa Shanes presented "A Tale of Two Cities: The Impact of School Context on Perceptions of School Support Staff." Indiana Pellegrino presented "When the Mind Jokes, the Unconscious Speaks: Analyzing the Cathartic Function of Humor and its Potential in Psychoanalysis." The Department of Psychology is so proud of you!

There was a lot to celebrate this week at the University of Hartford Department of Psychology. Dr. Jack Powell was awarded an Arts and Sciences Outstanding Faculty Award for his MANY years of dedication--so well-deserved. We also held one of our first in-person induction ceremonies for Psi Chi in several years.
