UHartford First and Second Year Writing

UHartford First and Second Year Writing Becoming a better writer starts in the first university-level writing courses you take, but it doesn't end there. Read, write, think, and keep learning.

This page provides information about the first- and second-year writing courses at the University of Hartford. Students in the College of Arts and Sciences take the 110-210 sequence and students in other colleges take the 110-111 sequence. All of our courses emphasize critical reading, argumentative writing, and appropriate use and documentation of sources while also helping students develop their particular academic writing voice.

University of Hartford has launched the Career Onboarding: Pre-1st Semester Career Readiness Prep program.

Career Services works with students in the summer BEFORE their first semester in the fall to create basic career tools such as the resume and LinkedIn account.

Support is delivered in a variety of forums and methods including Facetime, individual meetings, classroom settings, email, social media, webinars, and professional media.

There is no cost for this service and it voluntary for students to participate.

We are focused on helping students to become career ready and pursue internships and careers they are passionate about.
