Join us on October 21 at 6:30 PM for an Open Studios event at the University of New Haven.

Professors Zack Goldberg and Mark Tavern will host an evening of demonstrations led by representatives from Telefunken and Sony, and this event will provide an opportunity for networking between students, faculty, and the Connecticut music and audio community.

Telefunken will lead a live recording session showcasing a selection of their microphones in our Studio A. Attendees will be able to listen and compare microphones during the session and ask questions about the microphones and recording setup.

Sony will share a demonstration of immersive audio microphone techniques, featuring recordings made this summer at Power Station New England. They will explain the microphone setups used in these recordings and play them back on the Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 system in our Studio B. Attendees will be able to hear how the techniques used in recording translate into immersive listening experiences, with time for questions about setup and process.

Music ELC residents took on part 1 of their studio recording project, working with RA Mattingly and Prof. Davis to produce a cover song in Studio B.

Here at UNH, Enhanced Learning Communities (ELC) are University of New Haven - ORL programs allowing first-year students of similar majors and academic interests to live together on the same floor and participate in additional programming opportunities, building relationships within their program and learning from other students and faculty.

Music ELC residents get a jumpstart on recording studio experience, connect with music faculty members, and take field trips to concerts and theater productions.
