Congratulations to Dr. Huseyin Gulen on being named the Bob and Sharon Schafer Chair in Finance. 👏

A professor and department head in the Daniels School, Gulen is an internationally recognized scholar whose research in asset pricing, corporate finance and behavioral finance has shaped understanding of investor behavior, political uncertainty and financial markets.

The chair was established to advance leadership in finance through discovery, learning and engagement.

Yichen Zhang has been named to Poets&Quants’ 2026 list of the Best 40 Under 40 Graduate Business Professors.

The Quantitative Methods Department associate professor (effective this August) and co-director of our online Business Analytics master’s program is preparing students to think differently about AI, machine learning and business strategy through hands-on, future-focused learning.

Zhang also received the 2025 Daniels School of Business Young Faculty Scholar Award. Congratulations, Dr. Zhang!

Daniels previously served as Purdue president from 2013 to 2022. The Mitch Daniels School of Business was named in his honor in 2023.
