Today at Purdue University's Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium, students mentored by faculty from the Purdue University Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering showcased research that demonstrates just how broad the impact of industrial engineering can be.

From AI-powered robotics and assistive technologies to digital twins for advanced manufacturing, healthcare, construction safety, human performance, and advanced sensing technologies, these projects tackle complex, real-world challenges through data, optimization, human-centered design, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the symposium is seeing undergraduate researchers contribute to meaningful work alongside faculty mentors, gaining hands-on experience while helping advance research with the potential to improve industries and people's lives.
