Peace Corps Prep at Purdue University

Peace Corps Prep at Purdue University The PC Prep Program at Purdue University prepares undergraduate students for intercultural work and a potential Peace Corps term.

Purdue been approved to offer the Peace Corps Prep program whose twin goals are fostering stronger partnerships between the Peace Corps and undergraduate institutions and developing a pipeline of diverse, highly qualified Peace Corps applicants. Currently offered at 68 colleges and universities in the USA, the program prepares students for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Co

rps service. Peace Corps provides four interdisciplinary learning objectives, and Purdue creates a path through which their students can meet them. In Purdue’s PC prep program, undergraduate students will choose classes related to one of the Peace Corps six sectors (Education, Health, Environment, Agriculture, Youth in Development, Community Economic Development), pursue a foreign language, train in intercultural competence, and develop their professional and leadership skills. Students will earn a Peace Corps Prep Certificate of Completion that can be highlighted in a resume, whether or not students pursue Peace Corps Service.
