The Purdue Student Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is dedicated to helping members reach their aviation goals through meeting and networking with airport executives worldwide, most of whom are AAAE members themselves. Founded in 1928 to represent airport management throughout the United States, AAAE's primary goal is to assist airport executives in fulfilling their
responsibilities to the airports and communities they serve. This student chapter of AAAE consists of individuals who are not actively engaged in airport management, but who are affiliated with Purdue University given its direct interest in airport management through its Department of Aviation Technology. The AAAE student chapter program exists at approximately 20 colleges and universities nationwide. The AAAE student chapter is responsible for:
Encouraging professionalism in the administration of airports through the acquisition of knowledge. Establishing and developing interchange of information and experience in the development, maintenance, and operations of airports with the national organization and with other student chapters. Representing airports and the airport management profession and to cooperate with other on-campus organizations for the general benefit of aviation. Establishing both social and business relationships with people in the field of airport management and its allied professions. Aiding organizational members in furthering their careers and to prepare students to make effective contributions to the aviation industry through internships, seminars, airport tours, guest speakers, and other activities.
