What if we could actually watch quantum particles move? At Purdue University, researchers are using ultrafast microscopy to capture the interaction between light and matter creating “movies” of quantum behavior that was previously only inferred. Libai Huang, of Purdue Chemistry, is able to see quantum particles moving through materials at a rate of up to 1 quadrillion (that’s 1,000,000,000,000,000) images per second, helping to establish the rules that advance computer chips, solar cells and LEDs, and quantum computing. A new chapter in One Health research is taking shape in Indianapolis. 🧬

Purdue University and Elanco Animal Health, along with state and local leaders, have broken ground on the new One Health Research Institute.

The planned 150,000-square-foot facility will bring together researchers, industry partners and entrepreneurs to advance research at the intersection of animal, plant, human and environmental health.

For Purdue Biological Sciences, it represents another opportunity to connect researchers across disciplines and translate scientific discoveries into solutions that can improve health and well-being.

Educators gained hands-on experience with tools at the Brick by Brick event by and LEGO Education. The workshop centered around AI integration in the classroom and how students can remain critical thinkers amid evolving technology, and educators each received kits to connect their classrooms with real-world innovation.
