NISO, which is a part of the Purdue University Honors College, is here for all Purdue students. We assist students and alumni as they apply for highly selective national and international awards. Claire Wolfer-Jenkins (Class of 2025) received a from Marshall Scholarships in 2026 for her impactful leadership through initiatives including co-founding Purdue's Boiler Substance Awareness Network (BSAN). Hear about her work and why she decided to apply to the Marshall Scholarship. She graduated in three years with her B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology (Purdue Biological Sciences) from Purdue Science and the John Martinson Honors College, and applied for the scholarship as an alumna while working at Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies.

The Purdue National and International Scholarships Office (NISO) supports students applying for the Marshall Scholarship. Learn about Claire's experiences working with NISO throughout her Marshall application.

Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and John Martinson Honors College alum, Deniz Eksiolgu, received a Goldwater Scholarship in 2025 for his research on implantable medical devices. Hear how the Barry Goldwater Scholarship Foundation has made an impact on his future from receiving the NSF GRFP to getting accepted to a PhD program at Rice University.

2026 Gilman Recipient, Hannah Mendel, participated in the College of Education, Purdue University Cambodia Study Abroad Program. For 3 weeks, she learned about Cambodian culture and taught English at partner schools. While there, she visited the cities of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Kampot and partipated in cultural excursions to ancient temple ruins, museums, and universities.

Nicholas Neuman received the from the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation in 2025 for his academic excellence and commitment to public service. He has made an impact on multiple communities through his grant writing for rural Indiana, initiatives as Vice President of Purdue Student Government, and internships with local and national government agencies. He also received an Honorable Mention from the Scholarship in 2024 and graduated in May 2026 with a B.S. in Purdue Agricultural Economics from Purdue Agriculture and B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University College of Liberal Arts .
