As alumna Marquetta Strait (PhD ’22) shares, the program’s goal is to prepare students for their next math course and their overall success as Boilermakers.

Nielsen Pereira was appointed as the John Feldhusen Term Professor of Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education for a term of five years beginning August 17, 2026.

“Having known Dr. Feldhusen and the vision he had for to be a significant institution that produces scholars in the field of , he would be very proud to know that his vision is being carried forward by Dr. Pereira,” said one recommender.

Organized by the Council for Exceptional Children & the Council of Administrators of Special Education, Price and colleagues visited the offices of key legislators to advocate for the protection of policies and programs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and funding for special education research.
