What’s better than a summer internship? A summer internship with another Stewie!
This summer we are working at Purdue in the BCMP department within the College of Pharmacy. We work under a professor and conduct research experiments in his lab! Our work mainly focuses on a protein called IRBIT that we believe could have applications in Type Two Diabetes.

I just completed a 10 week fellowship program called SURF that included lab work, networking, a field trip Lilly, and then I had the opportunity to present some of our research at the end.

Zoe has been working in this lab since last summer and I joined fall semester last year. It has been such a fun and memorable experience getting to work every single day with another Stewie!!

You may have noticed at the end of our fundraising kick-off video the phrase ""Pray. Give. Expect."" What do we mean by that?

Pray. We want this project to first and foremost be covered in prayer. Prayer that God's favor would continue to be extended toward the expansion and renovation. Prayer that God would prepare the hearts of the women who will live in the house during construction and afterwards. Prayer that the construction would go smoothly and God would provide skilled workers for every stage.

Give. Our goal is to fundraise $500,000 (10% of the total cost of the project). Any donations received will be a direct investment into the lives of young Christian women at Purdue. Click the link at the bottom of this post to learn how to give! Throughout the process, there may arise other opportunities to give beyond just financially. Keep an eye out!

Expect. After praying and giving, we eagerly expect to see God's plan for Stewart unfold. We are simply stewards of the resources He has graciously given us. Follow along as we give updates on the project through the coming months.

Summer internships are in full swing!
This summer I’m working with Beck’s Hybrids as a research intern! So far, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to work alongside research associates and the corn breeding team as they develop new hybrids and conduct product characterization research to help farmers succeed. My intern project involves the use of drones in fungicide applications! -Kyra Marshall
