As you may or may not know, many of the Founding Fathers, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Paul Revere, were Freemasons.

Their commitment to the principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity deeply influenced the foundation of our nation.

The Declaration of Independence itself resonates with Masonic ideals, emphasizing the inherent rights of individuals and the pursuit of a just and equitable society.

Freemasonry teaches us the value of unity, the strength of brotherhood, and the importance of moral integrity, all of which are reflected in the spirit of Independence Day.

The rituals and symbols of our Craft, such as the Square and Compasses, remind us to build our lives and our nation on a foundation of virtue and wisdom.

As we commemorate this historic day, let us also honor the legacy of our Masonic forebears.

Their vision and dedication continue to inspire us to strive for personal improvement and contribute to the betterment of society.

May we all embrace this spirit of independence with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to the Masonic values that have shaped our great nation.

May this 4th of July remind us of the enduring bond between Freemasonry and the principles that make our country strong.

Highland Lodge #311 will be hosting its first ever lamplight lodge on July 15th 2023. We would like to invite all Master Masons to attend. There will be fried chicken and all the fixin’s. We eat at 6:00 by lamplight and the meeting will start @ 7:00. We encourage all brothers to wear their bibs or good old country clothes to this occasion. Highland Lodge is located at 450 Main Street in West Liberty Kentucky. Hope to see you all there for a night of great fellowship!

Do you know who wrote the American Pledge of Allegiance? Why, a Freemason of course!

For many years, the author of the pledge was thought a mystery. But, after much research, the pledge was officially attributed to Bro. Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister from New York. He was a Brother in Little Falls Lodge No. 181, Little Falls, New York.

Francis Bellamy Memorial Parkway, outside of Rome, NY, is named in his honor.

Please come out and help us honor those that paid the greatest price so that we may enjoy our freedoms.

MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE SET FOR MAY 30TH AT TREADWAY PARK

The Kiwanis Club of West Liberty will host a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30th at Kiwanis Treadway Memorial Park located on Prestonsburg Street in West Liberty. The event will commence at 12 noon.

Donietta Hawkye Director of Veterans Employment & Training at U.S. of Labor and a USAF veteran will be the keynote speaker.

DAV Chapter #132 will conduct changing of colors and render honors to our fallen military.

Refreshments will be served following the service.
