Digestive system microbial imbalances are common in autism. Multiple patient cases, along with medical research, have been documented over the years showing the adverse influences of chronic fungal infections in triggering digestive symptoms, aberrant and self-stimulatory behavior, and other characteristics common to autism. The use of antifungals such as Nystatin and Fluconazole can be helpful. However, there are many problems linked to fungal infections that extend beyond gut problems that should be understood by every health professional. This lecture by Kurt N. Woeller, DO of Integrative Medicine Academy will explore these topics in detail.
What You Will Learn:
• The nature of candida and mucosal invasiveness
• Multiple mechanisms of pathogenicity
• Laboratory testing useful for fungal exposure and candida that is relevant to autism
• Certain biochemical imbalances associated with candida overgrowth
• What to know about using more than one test linked to mold exposure
