On December 2, the West Point Class of 2027 will experience the moment | BRANCH NIGHT | The night First Class cadets learn which branch of the United States Army they’ll serve in upon commissioning. But Branch Night isn’t where those assignments are decided.

Welcome to THE PATH | Issue #3 | October 2026

The plan is built. Now execute.

This month is about completing the work you control, meeting the deadlines you do not and putting your preparation to the test.

1. Complete your writing. Review every unfinished essay or statement in your Candidate Portal. Draft, revise, proof and submit each requirement.

2. Submit your nomination applications. Review every nomination source, confirm the deadline and required materials, submit what is ready and record what remains.

3. Take your CFA. Review the baseline you established in August. If you are ready, schedule and complete your record CFA using all six events in the official order. If you are not ready yet, set your target date and keep training.
