This weekend we welcomed PM-BSN cohort #4 to campus for their Transition to Baccalaureate Nursing skills boot camp. Our first cohort will graduate this fall!

We have three busy nursing programs (campus BSN, Online PMBSN, and hybrid MSN FNP) at SMWC. Classes start tomorrow online and Tuesday on campus and we are excited for the new academic year! 💊🩺💉🩹

The last week has been a whirlwind! From the Oak Leaf Ceremony on Wednesday to Pinning in Friday, and then graduation yesterday. Congratulations to our BSN graduates. Our 4th MSN chort walked in graduation as well and will finish their coursework at the end of the summer!

Happy Nurses Day! We appreciate all of our faculty, alumni, and current nursing students for the selflessness they show being so caring of others. There is no better way to celebrate Nurses Week than with pinning and graduation!

Along with Equine and Education, today the Dept of Nursing welcomed a large group of students from Sarah Scott Middle School. At the nursing stations, students learned how to operate hospital beds, swaddle newborn babies, do hands only adult and infant CPR, carry patients on backboard, and the visual and motor skill affects that intoxication and concussions can create.

Special thanks to our faculty and student volunteers for coordinating and helping with the event.

This week, two of our full-time lecturers, Mrs. Shaughnessy and Ms. Lucas, have been in Orlando attending the AACN Essentials conference. The knowledge they are learning will help our BSN program update our program learning outcomes and modes of assessment to align with the newly published Nursing Essentials from AACN/CCNE.
