On Friday, we welcomed Adam Rosenblatt and John Corkill from Beyond This Point, who gave a presentation about their interdisciplinary work and set up a portion of the project they had performed at Short North Stage earlier that week. "Reclaimed Timber" reimagines Michael Gordon’s percussion sextet Timber as an immersive multimedia performance experience. Played entirely on just six slats of amplified wood with an interactive lighting element involving LED-illuminated paper lantern “houses,” the performance is a unique and profound examination of the consequences that stem from each community’s policies around housing, development, and environmental stewardship.
