Congratulations to McDaniel College softball sophomore Cameron Kelly who was selected to represent Ireland at the U22 Women's European Softball Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic, from July 20-26. Kelly will represent Ireland as the team continues its preparations for the Olympic qualifiers in 2027.

McDaniel was once again proud to host the last leg of today's Carroll County Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Maryland. A number of McDaniel employees came out to show their support of the participants. McDaniel President Julia Jasken and McDaniel College Department of Campus Safety Director Eric Immler brought greetings on behalf of the college at the closing ceremony at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium.

Environmental Studies Associate Professor and Department Chair Elly Engle has been working over several years to bring a seed library to McDaniel's campus. Now, with a redeveloped campus garden and a newly renovated greenhouse, along with projects at the McDaniel Environmental Center, the time was right to launch the library at this spring's Earth Day Fair. Read more about the library and the collaboration between Engle, her students, and members of both the McDaniel and the Westminster communities.

With new environmental and sustainability initiatives taking root here at McDaniel — such as the annual Earth Day Fair, projects at the McDaniel Environmental Center, a redeveloped campus garden, and a newly renovated greenhouse — the time is finally right for a seed library to come to campus.

Caroline R. Sherman, Ph.D., has been selected as McDaniel College's new provost following a national search. Sherman, who has extensive experience in academic administration, most recently served as a member of the senior leadership team as vice provost for academic administration and dean of graduate studies at The Catholic University of America. She plans to join McDaniel effective July 1.

Get your green and gold ready for Green Terror football and tailgating on the Hill! 🏈 McDaniel's 2026 season starts under the lights at Gill Stadium on Friday, Sept. 4, at 7:30 p.m. and Homecoming is Saturday, Oct. 3 vs. Carnegie Mellon. Other home games include Saturdays, Oct. 10 (Ursinus), Oct. 31 (Franklin & Marshall), and Nov. 7 (Johns Hopkins; Parent & Family Weekend).

In exactly 3 hours and 3 months, the football team will make its 2026 season debut against Catholic under the lights in Gill Stadium on Friday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Last week, the first cohort of students in McDaniel's M.S. in Occupational Therapy program officially began their studies by spending time on campus for orientation. These 24 students are now well on their way in their professional journey, taking their first steps toward becoming occupational therapists. We are excited to watch this inaugural group learn, grow, and lead!
