English Language Institute at WJU

English Language Institute at WJU ELI is here to serve students from all corners of the world in a small, safe, hometown setting.

Our small classes are available year round in all levels of English. We are here to help you learn English quickly, effectively, and enjoyably. It is centrally located at Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, West Virginia, the youngest of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. The Institute is one of many programs at the comprehensive, liberal arts college. Through intensive co

urses students acquire the knowledge of English necessary for travel, professional or occupational communication, or admission to a university or technical school. In order to offer every student ample time to speak in class and to receive individual attention, class size is limited to 12 students. Students attend five hours of classes every day, Monday through Friday. Additionally, they are expected to practice English outside the classroom with the many resources available to them. Students have the option of residing in residence halls at the University or with American families in the community.
