Psychology majors - are you hoping to take one of your advanced 400-level PSYCH classes in Spring 2027? This graphic lists the advanced courses we will be offering next semester. These courses can fill up quickly, so don't delay in signing up once you are able to in November!

Some important information to keep in mind regarding 400-level courses:
Because these are upper-level courses, they have specific prerequisites. Be sure to check that you have the required prerequisite courses before planning to enroll.
PSYCH 487 (Field Training in Psychology) has an application process. Please contact the instructor of the class to learn more.

It’s advising season once again! Course offerings for the Spring 2027 semester are now available for students to view on Stellic or WINS. Students' enrollment dates will be posted on 10/19, and priority registration will begin on 11/2. Be sure to reach out to your academic advisor if you have an academic advising hold on your account. Even if you do not have any holds, it is always a good idea to check in with your advisor before registering for your classes, as they are happy to discuss course offerings for next semester, how your current semester is going, and your future plans!

Congratulations to our Get Psyched Learning Community for helping to shatter the record for the number of dog treats made at this year’s Learning Community Day of Service! They enjoyed an afternoon at Fairhaven Senior Services mixing, rolling, and cutting out dog treats for local animal shelters and veterinary clinics with the residents. In all, the learning communities made over 3,200 dog treats in one afternoon! 🐾

Thank you to our second-year school psychology graduate students for hosting this year’s School Psychology Fall Social last week! 🍁 We welcomed our new first-year school psychology students and enjoyed the start of the fall season together.

We are once again excited to share details about this year’s UWW’s Nursing Home Visitation Program! NHVP is one of the university’s longest-running student volunteer programs, with students participating in more than 235,000 visits over the years - and still counting! Visits start this upcoming week, but students can start volunteering at any point in the semester. More information, including visit schedules and how to sign up, can be found at www.nhvp.com.

Our Get Psyched! Learning Community had a great time earlier this week enjoying dinner together in the dorm, and attending the first Psychology Club meeting of the semester! We are looking forward to many more fun activities in the months to come!

The first Psychology Club meeting of the year is TONIGHT, Monday, 9/14, at 6:00 in Hyland 1307! Tonight’s activities will include a game night, and future weekly events can be found on the monthly calendar posted to Psych Club’s Instagram. We hope to see many new and returning faces soon!

Join us for the Larson Family Lecture in person in University Center 275A or over Webex on Monday, October 12th from 5-7 p.m. In their lively presentation, “Supporting Newcomer Students: How to Build a Multi-Tiered System of Support and Community for Students to Thrive”, clinical psychologists Dr. Colleen Cicchetti and Dr. Yvita Bustos will share trauma-informed practices for working with refugees/ immigrants that build on newcomers’ internal strengths and outside supports and promote emotion regulation strategies.
