UW-Whitewater Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology Department

UW-Whitewater Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology Department The official account for the department of Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology at UW-Whitewater.

The Department of Sociology, Criminology and Anthropology offers a variety of programs linked with students' career-related objectives, including post-graduate work. All our courses are taught by the faculty, not teaching assistants. Additionally, faculty remain active in their research, further enhancing students’ experiences by keeping course content contemporary while also offering optional und

ergraduate research opportunities under faculty supervision. Students have opportunities to present such work at scholarly conferences and submit it for award considerations. Besides research and cutting-edge content in coursework, students may choose to travel internationally through several “travel study” programs or longer semester or year abroad experiences, join one of our several student clubs, engage in community service through some courses, or partake in an internship experience linked with their career goals. The department offers international honor society memberships, student awards, and grants to offset tuition expenses, too. Finally, we provide various certificates students may add to their degree, enhancing skills for careers.
