Blake and Logan blew it out of the park this week taking first place for the second week in a row at their local tournament. With almost 6lbs more than the runner ups, Blake and Logan had a total bag of 15.14 lbs. If you want to catch big bass or fish in tournaments, or are just looking for friends, reach out to us and look out for updates on our first meetings coming up!

Well finally after a long road of coming up short time after time, our club officers Blake and Logan finally took home the win at their local fishing tournament! In a rollercoaster of emotions, they capped off their bag with a last second cast from Blake that reeled in a 2.72lb bass to bring the 5 fish bag total to 10.16 lbs and seal the deal. UW-Whitewater Fishing team congratulates them on their victory. If you love fishing, want to fish in tournaments like these guys, or just need some new buddies for the school year, we are always welcome to new members. UW-Whitewater fishing team members don’t just fish in tournaments - you can out on the water by themselves or with friends and family all the time, even in the heat of summer!

If you are looking into joining a team, but don’t want the pressure of tournament fishing, or maybe you just want to meet some friends, our team is for you! We are very laid back while still offering competitive fishing opportunities!

Congrats to Logan and Blake for taking third place in their recent tournament with a bag of 10.06 lbs! Throughout the summer we continue to have our members fish in tournaments and get out on the water! This week’s Fishing Friday hilights our Battle of Big Green that took place on Father’s day! We had an excellent turnout with some real biggins on the board. Our next tournament will be back on Big Green Lake in October, so marl your calendar!

Whitewater Alumni are some of the biggest supporters of the UWW fishing team. Blake and Logan got the chance to compete against the local hammer and former UWW Fishing Team President Michael Zawicki and his dad earlier this week on one of the most pressured fisheries in the Whitewater area. Michael was able to boat this 3.70lb largemouth to take home big bass and help with their 2nd place finish.

UW Whitewater Fishing Team believes in the importance of community building and helping out others, and we are very grateful to have two opportunities to help out others in the community.

This past weekend while our tournament on big green lake was underway, we made a stop to collect some donations from a very generous and supportive individual. We helped him clean out some inherited gear and he was more than happy to donate some gear to us on top of making a donation to our cause. We ended up loading two car trunks with baits, lures, tackle, and rods. We cannot thank him enough for his generosity and hospitality.

Then later that day after weigh-ins, we had a couple of young anglers come up and ask us what to fish with, and we saw it as a perfect opportunity to send them home with some gear for free. We always cherish giving back and are glad we had the opportunity to do so. Making sure the younger generation has a positive image on fishermen and UW Whitewater is a priority for us, and we are committed to the future of this club and all fishermen.

Congrats to Troy and Chuck for winning the Battle of Big Green annual tournament with a bag of 17.74 lbs! Also congrats to Jacob and Mason who landed in second place with a bag of 16.52 as well as the Big Bass with a smallmouth weighing in at 4.35 lbs, and Darrien and Ed for punching in third place with a bag of 15.7 lbs. Thank you to everybody who showed up, we had a great turnout, and we hope to see you in the fall again!
