No two journeys are the same. After leaving Whittier, Napoleon Tavale showed determination, focus, and a deep love for his art. As he puts it, “Stay true, stay authentic, stay curious, take great care of the instrument (your mind and body), the music (your voice and spirit), and get out there and tell your story!”

Actor and educator Napoleon Tavale '07 reflects on building a career in the performing arts, lending his voice to Disney's live-action Moana, and the Whittier experiences that helped him know the way and discover just how far he'll go.

What does a typical day look like at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park's Harter Veterinary Medical Center?

The truth is, there's no such thing as "typical."

Melanie Peel, DVM, DACZM, '14, who earned a bachelor's degree in biology and environmental science, demonstrates how a strong foundation in the life sciences can lead to a career dedicated to wildlife health and conservation.

It's a powerful reminder of the impact our alums are making in the field.

Congratulations to alumna Sabrina Astengo for being named one of six finalists in the LA Phil's "The Best of Broadway Opening Night at the Bowl Spotlight Competition."

In a recent feature in the Whittier Daily News, Sabrina also reflected on the impact of Whittier College's theatre and music programs, expressing her gratitude for the faculty and experiences that have helped shape her journey.
