Music majors enjoy strong programs in performance and education with diverse opportunities. The Midwestern State University Music Department is a fully-accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music and is a division of the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts. c. With nine full-time faculty, the music department strives to offer all students numerous opportunities for musical involvement. Music students may earn a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in performance or with teacher certification, or earn a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Music. Performance ensembles at MSU include University Singers, Midwestern Singers, Oratorio Chorus, Opera Workshop, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Basketball Pep Band, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Winterguard. The MSU Department of Music is a member of The National Association of Schools of Music, The Texas Association of Music Schools, and the Kemp Center for the Arts.
