This fall we are excited to offer our first overnight trip! Friday afternoon, we arrive in Waco and tour the famous Dr. Pepper Museum. There we will learn how Dr. Pepper is made, how the name was created and the complete history of this famous beverage. We will end our tour with a Dr. Pepper float! Dinner will be provided in Waco. After dinner we will check into our hotel to enjoy our evening accommodations. Saturday begins with breakfast at our hotel and a visit to Magnolia Silos. Created by Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV Fixer Upper fame, the Silos are a cornerstone of the Waco experience. There will be time to shop at the main Magnolia Market and Magnolia Home, six boutique-style shops with specific themes or tour the church on the grounds. Don’t forget to visit the Silos Baking Company for fantastic baked goods or try one of the many food trucks located on the premise. Whether you lounge on the lawn, play on the Wiffle Ball field or take an easy stroll through the garden, we want you to enjoy your time and experience at this unique attraction. Late morning, we will depart Waco and head to the hustle and bustle of downtown Fort Worth. Our first stop will be lunch at Riscky’s BBQ, a legend in Texas BBQ since 1927. After lunch, Mr. Stockyard, our tour guide for the day, will board the bus and provide us with the colorful history of Fort Worth, including the Historic Sundance Square, and the downtown that was known as “Hell’s Half Acre” for its saloons and gambling dens. This area was frequented by cowboys and outlaws including Butch Cassidy, Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. After our tour, Mr. Stockyard will take us to the famous Fort Worth Stockyards where we will tour many locations including the Historic Cowtown Coliseum and Billy Bob’s Texas.
Each passenger is allowed one large suitcase on the tour. This bag will be tagged, handled and accounted for by Village for the duration of the tour. Smaller carry-on bags may be brought along and stored either under the coach or above the seats, but those bags will be your responsibility to handle.

Classic Fortified Wines From Spain and Portugal
March 10 | Sherry is a fortified wine from the Andalusia region of Spain, known for its wide range of flavors and styles. It’s made from white grapes grown in the region’s chalky soil, using a solera system in which barrels are stacked in a triangle shape. The oldest wines are at the bottom, and new wine is added to the top. You’ll learn all about the production and various colors and styles of this ancient wine and taste a full array from dry to sweet.
March 17 | Port, Portugal’s most illustrious wine, hails from the steep, terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, a testament to the country’s rich winemaking heritage. For the most part, Port is a full-bodied, sweet red wine with notes of berries, caramel, cinnamon and chocolate. But there are other varieties including dry, semi-dry, white and rosé varieties. In other words, just as with other types of wines, port comes in a wonderful variety of styles to suit your tastes. We will taste several different styles. You must be at least 21 years of age to enroll.
