T2T University Mentor Spotlight!

Jonda Walter has been a T2T university mentor for many years and is the leader of our mentor team. She is the absolute greatest when it comes to supporting and encouraging new teachers. Jonda shares "The joy of being a mentor: I am a cheerleader. I want my children and grandchildren to have the top teachers, teachers who care about them as people as well as teachers who can deliver the content. As a mentor I like to think that I help my Transition Teachers to navigate the expectations of being a student and a teacher. I hope that I encourage them to be brilliant and excel in their craft. But most, I hope I model that each person deserves respect, and encouragement and an opportunity for a new career path where they feel valued and help them to recognize that each day, they are making a difference in the life of a child. Shine in Brilliance!" Thank you Jonda for playing such an important role in the success of our beginning teachers!πŸ’›πŸ–€

T2T University Mentor Spotlight!

Melanie Matney is another one of our incredible T2T university mentors. She has been supporting our teachers for a number of years and we greatly value her expertise in teaching science. Melanie shares, "I like mentoring in the T2T program because it is exciting to walk alongside new teachers and hopefully encourage them to reach their full potential. Teaching is challenging and exciting. Most people who enter the program have a passion for a content area already. My role is to help them see ways they can foster that same passion in their students." Thank you Melanie for all that you do!!πŸ’›πŸ–€

T2T University Mentor Spotlight!

Meet Cindy Malcolm - one of our T2T university mentors! Our mentors/supervisors play a key role in our T2T teachers' success and we are so lucky to have them on our team!

Cindy shared, β€œThe joy of teaching is in the learning! One of my favorite parts of the T2T program is seeing the growth from the first year to the second year. It is amazing to see our teachers confidence grow in their ability to teach their content with engagement. Reflection plays a significant role in teaching. After observing a lesson, I discuss with my assigned teachers what went well and what might they might try to do differently. The joy of teaching really is in the learning.”

Thank you Cindy for your AMAZING work!πŸ’›πŸ–€
