Hi, All! Hope you're enjoying your onset of the summer break! There's a Fellow EdPsycher who may benefit from your kind support if possible. Despite his many efforts to obtain scholarship, he hasn't secured any.... So he set up a fundraiser to offset the debt he owes WSU for this past spring semester. So, wondering if you might consider donating to the fundraiser. The link is: https://gofund.me/e1e556cb
All donations will be greatly appreciated and help Samuel Nze reach his Graduation :-)

It was immense pleasure to host as guest speaker Dr. Rieker, from PennState University, in our Psychology of Language and Discourse Processes at Wichita State University last week. Following our brief discussion at AAAL conference, Jacob and I found topics of interest for our doctoral students, incl. a Vygotskian perspective on teacher development and the role of discourse in this process. In the lecture, Dr. Rieker discussed the line of collaborative work w/ Dr. Meredith Doran in English-medium instruction (EMI) and faculty development, w/ an emphasis on the resonances and applications the Vygotskian approach has for understanding professional development. Our EdD students were eager to discuss how the researchers' alternative definition of development - as the process of creating qualitative changes in teacher reasoning - could be taken up in their contexts and the studies they will conduct. Thank you for a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating session! Kudos to Everyone's intersubjectivity and collaborative spirit during this eventful talk! With Jacob Rieker
