The Etzanoa Conservancy is sharing for the Flint Hills Wildlife Refuge
We're making a big volunteer push on two particular dates in the Flint Hills!
Our friends at the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes are looking for volunteers to help harvest Switchgrass at Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge from
*September 2-6 for the first week
*followed by September 21-25
The harvested grass will be use to complete the construction of a traditional grass house for the Etzanoa Conservancy in Arkansas City, Kansas.

The Holmes Museum of Anthropology is a teaching museum. We offer applied learning experiences that help students prepare for careers in museums or related fields. We also love to collaborate with other departments, so when the opportunity was presented to offer an applied learning experience to graphic design students, we jumped at the chance. The museum has never had a logo or really any professional graphics package. We've had some talented students throughout the years help to create some nice newsletters and flyers, but nothing consistent. Thank you to senior Cassie Brown, and recent graduate Kayla Black, and with the help of their professor Joshua Smith, they were able to create a professional graphics package for us that we can use as we "start fresh" in our new space. The students also gained valuable real-world experience they can present to future employers. We're proud to be a part of their journey. The image below is one of the logos they created. The design is inspired by geometric patterns commonly used on pottery in the American Southwest and other cultures around the world.

Volunteers needed in the Flint Hills!
