Who knew a paper airplane could lead to something bigger? ✈️

This morning, WSU Tech celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Kansas Aviation Museum new children's STEAM space! From flight simulators and interactive games to a Paper Plane Challenge designed by WSU Tech, the space gives kids a chance to experience aviation firsthand, discover new interests, and get inspired by all the possibilities a career in STEAM has to offer!

Dr. Sheree Utash, President of WSU Tech, and Mandy Fouse, co-authors of the Tech Tykes book series, also unveiled a new Tech Tykes mural and dress-up area to help kids picture themselves in aviation and STEAM careers and realize those futures are within their reach!

Thank you to the Kansas Aviation Museum and all the partners who helped make this space possible and continue to inspire the next generation to explore careers in aviation and STEAM!

Today at the Skilled Trades Expo at WSU Tech City Center, students had the opportunity to connect with businesses from across Kansas! From automotive and construction to HVAC, electrical technology and more, the event brought students and industry professionals together to explore career opportunities, build connections and get a glimpse of the next generation of skilled workers.

Textron Aviation has become the first aviation company in Kansas to launch a state-registered aviation youth apprenticeship program. This initiative offers high school students paid, hands-on training and classroom instruction in aviation maintenance, avionics, and manufacturing.
