Alumni Spotlight this week goes to…

🎓 Luz Rodriguez! 🎓

Luz is a 2024 first-generation graduate who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Education. Today, she is thriving as a Spanish teacher at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School and serving as the sponsor for their HALO program! As a former Friends HALO member, Luz is successfully continuing the momentum of mentorship!

She has kept our communities connected by bringing her high school students to visit Friends—and just last week, we had the privilege of visiting her HALO students!

Luz, thank you for helping empower young students to hold their heritage close while exposing them to endless opportunities! 💫

Back in September, we put leadership into action for our annual project of giving with Iglesia Evangélica Amigos! ⛪️

Our Latino Leaders had a wonderful time (per usual) helping with yardwork, cleaning, organizing, making tacos, and assisting in their annual garage sale!

Cheers to more years of giving! Thank you again for having us! 😊
