Eastern Oklahoma State College is pleased to welcome Dr. Tommy Turner as an Instructor of Business!
Dr. Turner brings 18 years of experience in education, primarily serving as a public school superintendent, along with an extensive background in business and agriculture.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in Horse Production and Management and a Master of Business Administration from Tarleton State University. He also holds a Doctorate of Business Administration in Global Crisis Management from the University of Economics and Management in the Czech Republic.
One of the most unique chapters of Dr. Turner’s career came after selling his 2,000-head cattle operation in West Texas. He spent seven years living in New York City, serving as a vice president with New York Life, with an office overlooking Madison Square Park. Despite his busy work week in a suit, he returned to Texas every weekend, trading city life for working cattle and loading horses.
Dr. Turner and his wife, Lucie, have a blended family of four children. Outside the classroom, he enjoys raising horses, training and riding horses, working cattle, and spending time with his family.
“Teaching college has been something I’ve wanted to do for 25 years, and I’m excited to finally have that opportunity,” Turner said.
