The faculty would like to invite you to the Chemistry HomeZooming Event during Homecoming on Saturday, October 17, 12:30 - 2 pm. It will be a great way to connect with former classmates both near and far! When you log into Zoom we will have different breakout rooms for different graduation years, so you can check in (and switch between them if you’d like). Our faculty will be jumping between the breakout rooms to say hello and catch up with you as well. It will be a great way to see some old friends and professors in the comfort of your own home! We hope you can participate and are looking forward to seeing you. The Zoom code will be posted in the newest online version of our annual newsletter Chemical Distillations!

Dear 2020 Graduates,

While this isn’t the way any of us envisioned celebrating your achievements, we have created a commencement video that we hope will help you remember your time in Chemistry at W&M.

On behalf of the department, I want to thank everyone who contributed to the video, and especially to Ms. Smith and Prof. Meldrum for putting so much effort into gathering information, editing your files and creating the video.

It has been a privilege working with you on earning your degree. We all wish you the very best and hope to see many of you in the fall for a real commencement as we and the administration currently expect. In the meantime, please keep safe, be well, and keep in touch!

The main W&M commencement ceremony can be found at: https://www.wm.edu/sites/commencement/virtual/index.php

Links to ceremonies for individual departments, including Chemistry, go live at 11:30 am EDT on Saturday, May 16 and can be accessed at:

From the entire department, best wishes to all!

-Prof. Hinkle
