With MacDowell month coming to a close and Hera Day tomorrow, we’re excited to celebrate our Alpha Chi’s in the arts as well as take a moment to appreciate our community and think about how we can serve it.

During MacDowell month, the month of February, Alpha Chi Omega women celebrate the fine arts and their fine arts heritage!

Hera Day is celebrated on March 1 by members of AXO. It’s a day to honor the sorority’s patron goddess Hera by volunteering and raising funds for domestic violence shelters!

As the Beta Delta chapter of Alpha Chi Omega we refuse to say silent. Police brutality is an issue that Black People face every day. No one should have to fear for their lives when they are interacting with the very people that are supposed to protect us. We stand in solidarity with the Black community and demand justice against systematic racism not only at William and Mary but everywhere. For these reasons we support the the Coalition of William and Mary Student Organizations In Cooperation for Change. Please consider donating to this this cause promoting fair and humane treatment of all individuals regardless of race, Creed, or color. Today is ! 👖🦋
Denim Day began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court overturned a r**e conviction on the account that the justices felt that since the survivor was wearing tight jeans, she must have helped the person who r**ed her remove the jeans, implying consent. The next day the women of the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the survivor. Today we wear denim to take a stand against flawed and destructive attitudes about sexual assault and to show support to survivors.

Today we would’ve held Walk a Mile in support of Avalon. Instead we are showing support today by participating in their . We challenge all Alpha Chi sisters to participate .

Avalon is a shelter in Williamsburg that works to end domestic violence and sexual violence. They continue to provide services to survivors as everyone works to end the spread of the Corona Virus. Outreach services continue through telephone and web-based mental health support. As well as an emergency shelter that is open and operating and a 24-hour helpline.
