Established Fall 2016, the Society of Women in Computing (SWC) is a William & Mary student chapter of the national Association for Computing Machinery's Committee on Women in Computing (ACM-W), which seeks to support, celebrate, and advocate for the full engagement of women in all aspects of the computing field. SWC also seeks to act as a central organization at William & Mary to provide resources

and opportunities for women to network, foster relationships, and share their experiences in computing. In working to advance the contributions of women in tech in the community at large, we have screened documentaries, hosted tech and resume workshops, and are working on launching a robotics mentorship with girls at Berkeley middle school. We are also collaborating with CS+Social Good to leverage technology to affect social change through collaboration with local non-profits and community organizations. This week, we will be hosting a mini web design workshop, with a web design competition afterwards. Additionally, we will have free ice cream for all members, and prizes for the winners of the competition. 🍦🏆
