Alpha Chi proudly recognizes members Dakota Hugo and Emma Rude, who are graduating as the first students at The Pennsylvania College of Technology to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science. Their achievement marks a historic milestone for the institution and reflects their dedication to academic excellence and scientific advancement.
Pictured with them is Dr. Justin Ingram, advisor for the Biomedical Science degree program, whose guidance and mentorship helped support this inaugural graduating class.

Dakota and Emma would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the members of Alpha Chi for the support, encouragement, and friendships they have gained throughout their academic journey. They are thankful for the sense of community and camaraderie that Alpha Chi provided and wish all members continued success in their own future endeavors.

As they move forward, Alpha Chi wishes both graduates the very best in their next chapters. Emma Rude plans to pursue Physician Assistant studies at The Pennsylvania College of Technology, while Dakota Hugo will attend DeSales University to pursue her BSN-DNP. We congratulate them on this remarkable accomplishment and look forward to the positive impact they will make in the healthcare field.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us for the 2025 Alpha Chi Fright Night 5k. It was great to see everyone. We were able to raise 3,700 dollars to contribute to reducing acceptance fees for new inductees. Thank you to all 87 participants and all of our contributing sponsors. We greatly appreciate your help!

Beautiful Saturday morning with some great people at the Pickle Ball Palooza- raising money for Penn College’s food pantry!
It was wonderful to get together for some friendly competition and lots of laughs!

Meet the Member Monday is here again!
Meet Jake,
Jake is a third-year Construction Management student and an active member of the Construction Management Association (CMA). This November, he’ll represent Penn College on the ASC Region 1 Competition Team.
This past summer, Jake gained hands-on experience as an Assistant Project Manager intern at Zartman Construction. His dedication to academics and the profession earned him induction into Alpha Chi in April 2025.
Outside the classroom, Jake enjoys weightlifting, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, friends, and his church’s young adult group.
We’re proud to have Jake in Alpha Chi and look forward to his future accomplishments! 💙

Alpha Chi members at Penn College—Emma M. Fox, Matthew C. Lavallee Harris, and Marissa R. Rupert—led a springtime drive to collect vital first-aid supplies for a medical clinic in Kenya. With support from UPMC and Penn College’s nursing and paramedic programs, they gathered thermometers, syringes, gloves, suturing and catheter kits, stethoscopes, and more. Meanwhile, Marissa rallied classmates and faculty from non-health-science programs through a bake sale to raise funds for additional gear. Inspired by Emma’s mission trip to Kenya with ICCM over winter break—where she assisted at a medical camp and saw firsthand the urgent need—this initiative demonstrates the Alpha Chi values of academic excellence, character, and global service. Well done, team! 🌍💙
