Taking a moment to celebrate these fabulous Lycoming art history students whose biographies of Mexican artist-women have been published with AWARE : Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions. These students were a part of Dr. McCutcheon’s TEAM of researchers to enhance the archive’s representation of modern Mexican artist-women during the 2021-22 cycle.

Thanks to the ongoing activism of the LBGTQIA+ community, the term “pride” is now synonymous with the month-long celebrations of q***r life and advocacy for equal rights around the world. This exhibition extends the notion of pride beyond June because, no matter the month, q***r and non-binary artists should be made visible. We invite you to explore the various ways pride manifests in the works on view. From critiquing social stigmas to exploring the self, the artists included here defy binaries and challenge expectations, highlighting their lived experiences in the battle for equality.
