Jerry W. Lee, 75, died suddenly on Thursday, August 27, 2026 with his daughter and son by his side.

Jerry was a native and lifelong resident of Martin County. He was raised in the Bear Grass community and later moved to Williamston. He retired from Williamston Yarn Mill and spent most of his life running JL Sales, a resale business, as well as assisted his friend Rickey Mobley in managing the Roanoke Sportsman Bait and Tackle shop in Williamston.

He was affectionately nicknamed Mr. Haney, a character from the show Green Acres as he bought and sold many things. He never knew a stranger and he enjoyed helping others by assisting them with their needs and getting them to and from medical appointments. He was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman.

Services will be held on September 12th, 2026 at Wilkersonβs Funeral Home at 2100 East Fifth Street, Greenville, NC 27858.

The viewing will start at 4 pm followed by a service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the estate. If paying by check, please make it to Jerry Lee estate.

Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Mary Lee, sisters Margaret Brown, Essie Blalock and Patricia Griffin; and brothers Lonnie Lee and Carlies Lee.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy J. Lee of Covington, Louisiana; son, Allen W. Lee and wife Elizabeth of Princeton, North Carolina; brothers, Ray Lee, Donnie Lee and wife Sheila; Roy Lee and wife Joyce; David Lee and wife Lynn; Bennett Lee; Paul Lee and wife Sheila, all of Williamston; Benjamin Lee of Plymouth; and Frank Lee and wife Charlene of Greenville; brother-in-law Victor Griffin and sisters-in-law, Faye Lee and Connie Lee.
