UNCW Office of Military Affairs The UNCW Office of Military Affairs provides leadership and support to military-affiliated students.

The Office of Military Affairs is an advocacy office that was established in March 2016 to develop and coordinate resources to help military-affiliated students--service members, veterans, and their family members--achieve their academic and career goals. Military Affairs staff members help students and their families learn how to navigate the university.

Since August 4, 1790, the brave folks of the Coast Guard have protected our nation’s waters, safeguarded our ports, conducted lifesaving missions, and stood ready to serve whenever duty calls.

On Saturday evening, UNCW was proud to host the Tenth Annual Cape Fear Purple Heart Dinner. We enjoyed honoring those who were awarded the Purple Heart alongside the Cape Fear Purple Heart Association and campus and community supporters. We were also honored to have in attendance Major James “Jim” Capers, Jr. who was recently awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
