Wilmington College has received another Choose Ohio First grant, bringing new scholarship opportunities to future students pursuing STEM fields 💚🔬

The $150,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Higher Education will support students entering programs such as data science, math education, agronomy and health science beginning in fall 2027.

This investment helps expand access to high-demand career paths while strengthening Ohio’s workforce in areas that matter deeply to rural communities and southwest Ohio. It also continues Wilmington College’s commitment to creating opportunities for first-generation students and other underrepresented populations in STEM.

Hands-on learning, strong mentorship and meaningful career preparation continue to be at the heart of the Wilmington experience, and this grant helps even more students take that next step. 🌿

We stopped some of our graduating seniors to ask the big question: what’s next after Wilmington College? Their answers are filled with ambition, purpose and excitement for the next chapter ahead.

No matter where life takes them next, we’re proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to see what they accomplish. Wishing the Class of 2026 nothing but success, happiness and fulfillment in the road ahead. 💚

One unforgettable morning at Wilmington College 🎓💚

Saturday’s 150th Commencement was filled with celebration, reflection and the kind of moments that stay with you long after the ceremony ends.

Keynote speaker Gary Hirsch challenged graduates to embrace uncertainty, notice the opportunities around them and become “yes-sayers” to the adventures ahead. And throughout the morning, one message kept shining through: the world needs more of what these graduates found here at Wilmington College: compassion, courage, connection and the willingness to show up for others.

There were hugs, tears, laughter and proud smiles as 224 graduates crossed the stage and stepped into what comes next. While their time as students has come to an end, the impact they’ve made on this campus will last far beyond Saturday morning.

Class of 2026, wherever life takes you next, carry forward the relationships, values and purpose that brought you here. We cannot wait to see the good you’ll do in the world!

Last day as Wilmington College students 💚

Today’s traditions hit a little differently. Baccalaureate, signing out on the Rock and one final Senior Lunch gave the Class of 2026 a chance to slow down and reflect on everything this place has meant to them.

The friendships, the late nights, the challenges, the memories and the people who helped shape them along the way, it all felt a little more real today.

Tomorrow, they walk across the stage. But today was about soaking in the final moments of the place they’ve called home for the last few years.

To all of our students: congratulations on finishing another year at Wilmington College! The long nights, early mornings, exams, practices, performances, projects and everything in between paid off.

We hope this summer brings you time to relax, make memories, spend time with family and friends, and recharge for what’s ahead. You’ve earned it.

Wilmington College’s 2026 Commencement is almost here! 🎓

On Saturday, 224 graduates will cross the stage and join a tradition that dates back more than 150 years at Wilmington College.

This year’s ceremony will feature keynote speaker Gary Hirsch; an artist, author, and creator of the global art movement Botjoy, along with special student speakers, performances and moments celebrating the journeys of the Class of 2026.

Congratulations to all of our graduates as they prepare for this milestone moment. Your purpose is just getting started! 💚

A new chapter in academic leadership at Wilmington College 💚

J. Wynn Alexander has been named provost, adding to his role as vice president for academic affairs. A longtime member of the WC community, his leadership will continue to support student success, faculty development and the future direction of the College’s academic programs.

As part of this transition, Angela Mitchell will step into the role of dean of faculty, helping guide and support faculty across campus.

These updates build on a strong foundation as DubC continues to move forward with purpose.

Yesterday, we gathered for a retirement party honoring Campus Minister Nancy McCormick and her 10 years of service to Wilmington College. Through her compassion, guidance and unwavering support, she has touched countless lives and helped shape the DubC community in meaningful ways.

Her presence has been a steady source of encouragement for students navigating some of life’s biggest moments — and her impact will be felt for years to come.
