The Chemical Technology Program at CFCC trains individuals to become laboratory technicians or entry-level chemists for the pharmaceutical, environmental, forensics, cosmetics, and food/beverage industries. The Chemical Technology Program at Cape Fear Community College provides education and training to students who are interested in working for laboratories across the nation. These employers incl
ude environmental, forensics, cosmetics, chemical processing and manufacturing, food/beverage, pharmaceutical, health clinics, and quality control laboratories. Students also enjoy success by serving as field technicians, sales representatives, or customer service representatives for scientific suppliers and instrumentation manufacturers. Students will complete a series of courses that center around basic laboratory techniques, chemical safety, laboratory operations, as well as specialized courses devoted to the food, pharmaceutical, and forensic industries. Finally, students complete a series of two courses on common instrumentation found in a laboratory environment. Students are not required to have any formal scientific training before beginning the program. There are no pre-requisites needed in order to begin the program. Suggested course sequence:
