Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15th-Oct.15th!
Last week, on the 16th we had SU Cooks with Grad students! Participants had the opportunity to connect while cooking and chatting about the heritage and culture. They made plain rain and black bean tostadas, yum!
Here are some of our upcoming events:
Hispanic Food Tasting Table is on Tuesday, September 21 at 11 a.m. (while supplies last) in the Brandt Student Center. In collaboration with Tasty Treat Tuesday, the Mosaic Center will offer FREE churros, pupusas, and empanadas from local Hispanic restaurants. Participate in the tasting and learn about these dishes, culture, heritage, and cuisine.
Dinner Dialogue: The Creation of Hispanic Identity is on Monday, September 27 at 6 p.m. at Antojitos Mexicanos. How has Hispanic identity become stereotyped through past and present events? Why do you think these stigmas and stereotypes still exist in our society today? Explore current topics related to Hispanic identity at this FREE dinner. Space is limited to the first 10 students who RSVP by Thursday, September 23.
