Tomorrow, Friday May 13th, the brothers of Nu Psi will have an AMERICAN MUSIC RECITAL (AMR)! If you aren’t in a ShenCoLAB practice at the time, and would like to hear some good ol’ music written by American composers, swing by the Amphitheater outside Ruebush Hall at 4 tomorrow to listen to the brothers perform a wide selection of music styles like pop, rock, blues, jazz, and even barbershop!

We are honored to have such an esteemed alumnus, Brother Joseph Jefferson, win this award. May his current and future endeavors represent the interests of our brotherhood.

Congratulations to Brother Joseph Jefferson (Nu Psi - 2009), who was recognized by the Jazz Education Network with the Ellis Marsalis, Jr. Jazz Educator of the Year Award.

This award, named after Brother Ellis Marsallis, Jr. (Delta Epsilon Chapter – 1965), recognizes an outstanding collegiate or university educator with a focus on jazz education, who represents the highest standards of teaching and whose results in the classroom have brought distinction to their institution and their students.

Brother Jefferson currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Trombone/Euphonium and Director of Jazz Studies at Southeast Missouri State University.

Earlier today, Nu Psi held a remembrance for our fellow brother, Ira Lindberg Harris. Today marks 10 years since his passing. With the assistance of our Alpha Psi Omega chapter, we honored him and his spirit, which carries through SU to this day.
