Shenandoah University Buzzin' Dozen Pep Band The Shenandoah University Buzzin’ Dozen Pep Band was established in 2008. For some students, band membership qualifies as work study jobs.

The Shenandoah University Buzzin' Dozen Pep Band supports Hornets athletics, promotes school pride and fosters positive relationships within the Shenandoah and Winchester communities. Its members have always been enthusiastic student musicians from across the university. The Buzzin’ Dozen Pep Band fosters school spirit, performing primarily at athletic events, though it is often asked to play at s

pecial events on campus. The band also represents Shenandoah at off-campus events such as Winchester's Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival. Any student – regardless of major – who wants to be part of the Buzzin' Dozen Pep Band is encouraged to audition. The pep band's first student director was Eric Price, who worked tirelessly to build the band and set its high standards. He was followed by Joe Hilling, and then Steven Cusick. The current student leadership (2014-15) is Joshua Fleming, director; Stephen Readyoff, assistant director; Steven Mangano, assistant director for programing & operations; and Nick Serbu, assistant director for membership.
