We all wish to become wise in our old age, but what about becoming SAGE? That wish is now granted thanks to our Shenandoah University - Department of Psychology's own, Dr. Scott King & SU Registrar's office, Emily Hollins who have developed the Shenandoah Adult Growth and Enrichment program! Read the full article to learn all about this wonderful educational opportunity for our area's aging adult community members.

Shenandoah University is piloting a new lifelong learning program that will allow older adults to participate in select college courses alongside undergraduate students without the stress of homework and exams.

Created by Professor of Psychology Scott King, Ph.D., and Shenandoah University Registrar Emily Hollins, Shenandoah Adult Growth and Enrichment (SAGE) is designed for adults 60 and older who want to stay intellectually active alongside traditional-age students.

King has seen many friendships develop between his students and older adults over the years and has built similar friendships of his own. Hollins, another proud Gen Xer, counts numerous older adults among her close personal friends, and she has even traveled to Uzbekistan and Thailand with a friend who is in her 70s. King and Hollins hope SAGE will promote similar intergenerational connections more broadly across Shenandoah University and the local community.

Paul is one of our Lecturers in our new Art and Design program. We love seeing one of our own making headlines and masterpieces to boot!

Sitting in his office, Paul Zdepski often gazed out the window at a dead tree outside his home in Toms Brook, imagining what it could become. He's transformed the tree into a local landmark. See story in link. ⬇
