At Wingate, we want our students to graduate with prospects and purpose so

they can make a difference in their communities and beyond. With just over 3,450 students on two campuses, Wingate’s size is ideal for strengthening leadership, intellectual activity and personal growth. Our main campus is beautiful and easy to navigate, which makes for great outdoor study groups and less getting lost. With a 15-to-1 student/teacher ratio, our faculty go out of their way to make sure that students succeed. Wingate University has built a reputation as a premier academic institution, with over a century of experience. This has prepared us to cultivate in our students the tenets of faith, knowledge and service. The University offers 37 undergraduate majors, 42 minors, five doctoral programs, and other career concentrations, preprofessional programs and graduate degrees. In addition to a robust intramural athletics program, Wingate student-athletes compete in 24 NCAA Division II sports, and Wingate has won the South Atlantic Conference Echols Athletic Excellence Award the past 16 times it has been awarded.

😭Move-in day is one thing for a freshman...new roommate, new dorm, new everything. It’s a different thing for the parent handing over the keys and driving home to a quieter house. One week down, a lifetime of memories to go! 🐾✨To the parents, guardians, and families who spent move in last week unpacking boxes, perfectly making beds, and lingering for one last bittersweet hug: THANK YOU! We know the drive home was probably quiet, and leaving a piece of your heart on campus is never easy. If you've spent this past week wondering if they are finding their classes, making new friends, or settling in, we promise, they are doing beautifully. They are surrounded by a campus community that looks out for each other. We loved capturing the pride and love in these rooms, and we are so honored you trust us with their next chapter. They are in great hands here at Wingate.

Some gifts change a campus, others change lives! Former professor John Coleman's generosity has funded both a scholarship and a brand-new play therapy room, equipping Wingate's counseling graduate students with the space they need to help the community's youngest clients. 🐾 Read the full story below!

In addition to an undergraduate scholarship, John Coleman's gifts have established a space for future counselors to learn to treat children.
