The confluence of physical and virtual health:

There is an old adage “never let a crisis go to waste” so we are going to leverage the lessons we are learning from COVID 19 for some good: Multi-Factor Authentication is like using a mask. It may be uncomfortable, and it may not always be handy, but the science says it is highly effective in protecting us from bad things.
The exact effectiveness of using a mask is a highly debatable topic; however the 99.9% effectiveness of MFA in protecting your accounts against malicious actors is not.
It works and it is proven. It is the single most effective thing you can currently do to protect yourself online.
Please turn on MFA for every account that supports it. Turn it on for your Facebook, Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, Amazon and certainly any bank accounts that you may have.
For the handful of WSU users who don’t yet have it enabled for your work account, please turn it on for that too (https://minnstate.edu/mfa). Heck, if you would like we’ll help you setup your WSU account and then you can use the same free application for all of your accounts!
Wear your masks folks and if you ask us... especially your digital ones!! ;)
