An evening dedicated to celebrating what it means to Create Your More ✨

From welcoming newly admitted students into the College of Business, to inducting members into Beta Gamma Sigma, to recognizing outstanding student leaders and graduating seniors—this night was all about celebrating growth, impact, and community.

And of course, we honored those who truly embody Create Your More:

🏆 One to Watch: Whitney Kreibich
🏆 Creator of More: Larissa Lopez
🏆 Faculty of the Year: Pat Paulson

These individuals represent the drive, leadership, and commitment to going beyond the expected that define our college.

Here’s to a year of creating opportunities, lifting others up, and building something more—together.

Celebrating one of our own đź’ś

The Winona State University College of Business is proud to share that Elizabeth Schwanke, Academic Advising Coordinator, was selected as WSU’s 2026 nominee for the Minnesota State Board of Trustees Outstanding Service Faculty Award ✨

Liz was recognized at a statewide luncheon alongside fellow nominees and university leaders.

Her work is grounded in the Starfish Story (making a difference for one) and CliftonStrengths—helping students recognize their strengths and reach their potential.

We see her impact every day through the way she supports, advocates for, and believes in our students.

One “starfish” at a time.

Flashback Friday ✨

Last week, our students had the incredible opportunity to visit Federated Insurance HQ in Owatonna for the Information Services College Fair—and what an experience it was.

From interactive game booths on Thursday night that made learning about careers at Federated fun and approachable, to a full day of professional development on Friday, our students got a firsthand look at what life after college can look like.

We kicked things off with inspiring insights from their CIO, Ryker, followed by a panel of young professionals who shared honest perspectives on transitioning from college to career—and how their degrees prepared them for that first step. The day continued with hands-on experiences including building tours, one-on-one job shadows, and even an escape room challenge, before wrapping up with lunch at the country club.

Experiences like these are what it means to —connecting classroom learning to real-world opportunity. 💼
