"Winston-Salem State SOHS awarded $1.34 million dollars to fund equipment for their space at the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness"!

Great work to Principal Investigator Dr. Cynthia Bell (Occupational Therapy), Co-Principal Investigator Dr. Judy Foxworth (Physical Therapy), Co-investigators Mrs. Allison Calhoun (Project Coordinator), Dr. LaVerene Garner, Dr. Sara Migliarese, Dr. Megan Edwards Collins and Dr. Nancy Smith

"This funding will be used to purchase equipment and supplies for the Winston-Salem State University School of Health Sciences dedicated space. WSSU's space in the center includes over 6,700 sq ft. of indoor space and an additional 2,100 sq ft of outdoor therapy space with a proposed mobility garden facilitating the provision of multidisciplinary educational and clinical services within the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness. Center participants will have access to a complement of services, including occupational and physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, social work, health care management, and much more offered by experts in their discipline areas.

The Intergeneration Center for Arts and Wellness will be a state-of-the-art center that will bring various collaborating organizations under one roof to offer not only healthcare, but also intentional intergenerational interaction, and arts-based activities to the Winston-Salem Community. The building is currently under construction and is set to open in Fall 2023."
