It was a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium for a matchup between the No. 4 Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels, a game that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final minute. As many remember, these in-state opponents faced off during the 2024 College Cup championship game, resulting in a 1-0 win for the Tar Heels. Following Wake Forest’s first home loss this season against Florida State, the stakes were high going into today’s game.

Nonetheless, the Demon Deacons defeated the Tar Heels 3-1.
