Wake Forest University Theatre & Dance The Wake Forest Department of Theatre & Dance offers, each season, four mainstage theatre production

The Department of Theatre and Dance offers students an exceptional education in theatre and dance, and plays an integral role in the Wake Forest community. We are a creative and collegial department that values close working relationships between students and faculty, that sees the arts as integral to a liberal arts education, and that prizes intellectual discipline as well as free thinking and expression. We aspire to create exceptional artist/scholars, exploring through classes and productions intersections of theatre and dance with other realms of study, and giving expression to humanity's foremost social and intellectual concerns. We promote inclusivity, intellectual curiosity, innovation, dialogue, and problem-solving skills. And we believe that artistic commitment, personal development, responsibility to one's community, and academic rigor can all coexist.

They hold the prompt book, call the cues, and keep the chaos entirely under control. ⏱️✨

Happy International Stage Managers Day to our incredible student stage managers! From the very first rehearsal to the final strike, you are the heartbeat of our productions. Thank you for turning headset static into art, solving every backstage crisis with grace, and making sure the curtain always goes up.

We see you, we appreciate you, and we literally could not do this without you. Drop a 📝 or 🎙️ in the comments to show our SMs some love!

On World Teachers' Day, we are shining the spotlight on our incredible Theatre and Dance faculty! 🎭🩰

Beyond the lectures, our professors guide students through late-night tech rehearsals, emotional breakthroughs on stage, and the vulnerable work of finding their unique artistic voices. Thank you for shaping the next generation of artists and storytellers! 🌟

Drop a 👏 or share a memory in the comments to thank a theatre or dance professor who changed your perspective!
